Silent Snow

I wrote this poem quite a while ago, but I was really proud of how it turned out, and with the weather on my side of the world turning cold, I figured it was fitting. Hope you all enjoy it!

Background: I wrote this poem at 8:52 a.m. when we had a free day in my speech class. I was bored, so I decided to write. I was inspired by reflecting back on sitting outside, waiting for Mom to pick me up in the winter. This was written on January 13, 2011.

It’s been falling for hours
Millions of tiny, white crystals
Floating gently to the ground
From the window, I see them fall
Silent and beautiful

As I walk outside
The crystals tickle my face and melt
The snow is a blanket of white
Making the world beautifully pure
Silent and calm

I walk alone through the quiet
All I hear is the soft crunch of the snow under my feet
I glance back and see
The fresh blanket of snow interrupted by footprints
Silent and that’s all

I sit and hear nothing
No cars, no voices, not even the wind blowing
I only see the snow falling
And I realize that
Silent is the way it should be

If you liked it (or disliked it!), let me know what you think!

I am SOOOO sorry!

It's been a whole month and a half since I last blogged - how sad is that?  Life is full, and sure has been keeping me busy.  I'm sorry to have neglected keeping you up to date, though.  Junior year is no joke, but I'm trying to make it through.  I've made quite a few more friends this year, which is always fun.  Thanksgiving break starts after school tomorrow, and it's very welcomed by all the students and staff at my school.  I have a physics test I need to study for, but I just wanted to let you know that I am indeed still alive and well, and I will try to at least post a Quote of the Day a little more often!  Love you all!

Sincerely,
A Busy, Self-Proclaimed Nerd

P.S. I am absolutely loving all of the Russian views that I am getting.  I love all of my Russian readers, and I appreciate you all taking the time to read about my life one tidbit at a time. :)

Homecoming preparation and cool concerts

Who knew that getting ready for a school dance would be this difficult?!?  I'm really excited because this is my first homecoming, but I've spent a good little portion of the money that I made over the summer trying to get everything together.  I think I finally have my dress and shoes (they're really tall too!), but I still gotta figure out how I'm gonna do my hair.  These are exciting times. :)

Also, yesterday I had the privilege of going to see one of my favorite bands perform on their headlining tour.  If you've never heard of the band Tenth Avenue North, you need to look them up because you're missing out on some great music.  I went with my dad, my brothers, and one of my best friends.  I had soooo much fun, and I even got to meet and take pictures with one of the supporting acts!  I love a good concert.  If anyone out there who is reading this has ever been to a really great (or really bad) concert, comment and tell me about it!  OR if you've never been to a concert, who would you see if you could go to any concert you want?

Sincerely,
A Concert-Going, High Heel-Wearing Self-Proclaimed Nerd

Homecoming!

So, just yesterday, I had the privilege of going to my school's homecoming football game, which is always fun to watch.  We beat Plymouth Educational Center 45-6, so I was a happy camper.  Our homecoming dance isn't actually for another 2 weeks, but for the first time, I'm actually planning on going to this one!  I'm really excited, and quite a few of my friends are going as ell, which will make it 10x more fun.  I haven't even started looking for a dress or anything yet, so I'll keep you updated on the hunt for that. :)

Quote of the Day #13

"If you write to impress it will be bad, but if you write to express it will be good."
- Thornton Wilder, playwright and novelist

Good stuff for any aspiring/current writers.

The vocal department...

So, this year, I am WAY more involved with the vocal department at my school compared to last year.  Last year was my first year being involved, and I was only in beginning choir.  This year, I'm in concert choir (varsity choir) and A Chord (the girls' vocal ensemble).  I'm a singin' soul haha!  It's a lot more work and commitment, but at the same time, I'm really enjoying it and I think it's going to be fun.  Varsity travels a lot, so that's gonna be challenging with school/homework/other commitments, but I'm determined to make it work.  I'll keep you updated on any cool vocal events that take place. :)

Football, friends, and fun

I just got back from a fun night out at a high school football game, and it was so much fun!  One of my best friends, Lauren, and I arranged it where I got to go to her home team's game and cheer them on.  Two of my other friends from back in middle school were cheer leading for the game and playing in the game (on the opposing team).  It's always fun to show my face every once in a while since I go to school so far from the rest of my friends.  I was cheering really loudly for people I've never seen before in my life, and I had the best time.  There's not too many things I enjoy more than catching up with friends and just hanging out.  It's always a good ol' time! :)  Well, until next time, au revoir!

A Football-Lovin', Self-Proclaimed Nerd

Homework...whoa

I'm only two weeks into the school year, and the homework is already starting to get heavy.  Lord have mercy.  Feeling a little bogged down today, but I'll get through it one way or another.

New school year!!!

I am sooooo sorry that I haven't posted in so long, but I figured, since it's the beginning of a new school year, I might as well kick it off with a new post.  I actually started about 2 weeks ago, but it's the thought that counts! ;)
So, believe it or not, I'm a junior this year (upperclassman, woot woot!), and I think my schedule is pretty tough.  I have world history, drama, physics, honors pre-calculus, concert choir, French 3, and AP English.  I'm really excited for French this year because I have a really good teacher, so hopefully I'll be a boss at French by the end of the year (Parlez-moi francais? Oui, oui, je vais!).  I'm also really looking forward to getting really into varsity choir because it's a big commitment and we travel a lot, but it seems like a lot of fun.  I'll try to keep you all posted with what goes down in my relatively drama-free-but-somehow-pretty-interesting life. :)
By the way, it seems like I've had a spike of Russian viewers recently, which is SUPER exciting.  Hello to everyone in Russia!!!

Sincerely,
A Self-Proclaimed Nerdy Upperclassman

Olympics!!!

How is everyone enjoying the Olympics so far? I'm a BIG fan, so I've been watching them everyday since the opening ceremony.  The US has been doing great so far, but some of the other big countries have quite a few medals of their own as well.  If you're not from the US and you're reading this, comment and tell me how your country is doing and who your favorite athlete is from your country!

London 2012 Opening Ceremony

Yesterday, in celebration of the opening ceremony, my friends and I had a party to watch it all together.  We sang karaoke, played Fruit Ninja, and even played with Legos before the big moment finally came.  Yes, we are all in high school. :)  We were very into the Olympic spirit, so please enjoy this picture of some of the flags of the world that we built completely out of Legos.  We felt pretty awesome haha.

College visits!

So, in a kind of late notice sort of way, my family decided to go and visit one of my prospective colleges - Wheaton College. It was a great experience to really be able to see a college firsthand. The campus was nice, and the people there were even nicer. I could really honestly see myself going there, and it's not too far from home either, which is nice. Pictures are forthcoming soon (I promise)! Sincerely, A College-Visting, Self-Proclaimed Nerd

I feel terrible...

I think I've been worse at posting during in the summer than I was during the school year, and I'm really sorry. I'm actually going off to summer camp tomorrow, and I won't be back until Saturday. I'll try and let you know how it was when I gt back, though! Work has been great so far, by the way. Working at a daycare is harder than some people might think, but it's pretty rewarding work. Anywhoo, I'll talk to you all when I get back! Sincerely, An Employed, Camping Self-Proclaimed Nerd

REALLY late pictures from my college tour

So, I know I posted a few pictures from my college tour before, but here's the rest of them!  Sorry for the delay!  The first two are from Harvard, and the last two were taken in the middle of Times Square (we ended our trip there).  Enjoy!

Bonjour! (My ATTEMPT at writing in French)

I really like French, and I just feel like writing a post in French, so here we go!  (I'm warning you, I don't really know more than basic conversational French haha.)

Alors, j'adore la francais et j'ai veux ecrire de la francais.  J'adore aussi ma famille, la musique et le chocolat. D'accord, c'est tout.  Au revoir!

Told you it would be basic!  I really do love the French language, though, and one day I'll be a fluent speaker and writer.  Until then, you have this to hold you over! :)

My first job!

Hi to everyone who may read this.  Let me just start off by saying that anyone and everyone who reads my blog is amazing.  My hope is that I can be at least a little bit entertaining, and I really do appreciate you.

Now, onto the exciting news.  I'm starting my first job tomorrow!!!  I'm going to be working at a daycare as an assistant, and it will be cool to get some experience with work and practice managing my money.  I'll be working for 6 hours a day (which sounds like a lot, but I know it's just kinda life), and I'm really pumped to get started.  It's just a little hard to not be totally free during the summer, but I think it will be worth it.  Plus, it's nice to do something truly productive with my summer.  I'll try to keep you posted on any developments!

Sincerely,

Quote of the Day #12

"If you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead, either write something worth reading or do things worth writing." - Benjamin Franklin I think this is a pretty cool philosophy about life. Just saying.

Quote of the Day #11

"God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing." - C.S. Lewis I like C.S. Lewis a lot. He wrote The Chronicles of Narnia, some of my favorite books of all time. He wrote them for children, but anyone can read them and enjoy them. If you've never read them...well...you're missing out, my friend!

So sorry!

I hate that I haven't been posting lately, but I promise I'm going to try harder to blog more often. Especially now that I am out of school, I have no excuse, right? Here's some good news: I'm about to get my first job! This whole school year I have been saying I was going to get a summer job, and this Monday, I am set to start working part-time at a Christian daycare! I'm really excited, and I just hope I do a good job. The owner seems to be very nice, and it'll be good to make some money and learn how to manage it well. I'll try to let you all how my first day goes! I'm also going to try and get back to posting a quote of the day as much as I can! Sorry for the lack of them lately! One day left...

I have one more day until school is out. Oh. My. Goodness. I am so excited! I'm trying to plan out my summer now. I'm actually in school right now writing this. The very end of the school year pretty much consists of finding a classroom to hang out in and have fun. Sincerely, An Excited, Self-Proclaimed Nerd

Field Day

I am convinced I am three shades darker than I was this morning. Field Day was pretty nice this year, but I had more fun last year. This year I didn't get on as many inflatables, and none of my friends wanted to get on them, which didn't help either. I DID have a snowcone though, which made life a little better haha. I also got to hang out with one of my best guy friends who I don't have any classes with this year, so that was fun. It was just nice to be able to relax a couple days before school is out. I went to my girls' ensemble (A Chord) practice after school too. This is only my 2nd time going to rehearsal, and I'm not gonna lie and say that it's easy, but it's a lot of fun too. I have to go but I'm gonna blog again later. Sincerely, A Self-Proclaimed Nerd

Oopsie...

Sorry that I haven't posted in so long! How has everyone been? I'm finished with finals (yay!). I have 5 more days left until school is out, and I'm so excited!!! I pulled out an A in my newspaper class, but I got a B in algebra 2. :( It made me really sad because I really trying to keep my 4.0, but things happen I guess. That's how you know the struggle is real...VERY REAL. Haha oh and by the way, I know this is random, but go check out this website: . It's a great blog, and yes, I am shamelessly plugging them. I'll try to blog more often in the next few days. Talk to you soon! Sincerely, A Generally Happy, Self-Proclaimed Nerd

A concert and a shout out!

One Direction was at the Fox Theatre yesterday.  The Fox Theatre is 20 minutes from my house.  I almost died of agony because I was not at the Fox, but at my house.  I couldn't see their beautiful faces or hear their angelic voices.  So close, yet so far...  BUT I heard the boys had a great time, and so did everyone else at the show.  Kudos to all the Detroit Directioners who made it loud yesterday (and I think we're one of the smaller venues too)!  I'm so proud!  Shout out to my friend Tales of a High School Bookworm and Drama Geek for putting up with all my moaning yesterday. ;)

Sincerely,
A Directioner and Self-Proclaimed Nerd

I think I see a gray hair...

Ok, so studying for finals is making me a little crazy.  I'm trying so hard to focus but there's so many other things I would rather be doing than studying.  I don't wanna be freaking out tomorrow, though!  Plus, I really wanna go to my friend's party tomorrow!  I think I see a gray hair coming on. *sigh* That's when you know the struggle is real haha!

Sincerely,
A Bored, Self-Proclaimed Nerd

It's Friday, Friday!

...Gotta get down on Friday!  Oh, sorry.  I got a little carried away haha.  I am so sore from soccer and everything from my abs to my knees hurts like crazy.  I still have practice today, but not before I go to piano tutoring for an hour.  After that, I have to go home and study for my algebra final so that I can go to my friend's party on Sunday.  Oh, c'est la vie!  I hope my hair isn't gray by the end of the school year!

A Super Busy, Self-Proclaimed Nerd

Stressing out...

So, I have an important test in algebra coming up next hour, and I'm freaking out.  I didn't study and it's the last test before our final, which is next week.  I have a draft due for my newspaper final today, and it's only half way done.  Then, I have back-to-back soccer games today and tomorrow.  All I can say is, the weekend cannot, and I repeat, CANNOT, come fast enough.  Geez.

Sincerely,
A Stressed Out, Self-Proclaimed Nerd

Thoughts on Memorial Day

This past weekend, I think a lot of people sometimes just think of it as an extra day off of school, but it's so much more than that.  Memorial Day here in the U.S. is a day to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to keep our country safe.  I know that sounds super overused, but I really genuinely mean that.  There are families all over the nation who have lost husbands, sons, fathers, and other loved ones to the horrors of war.  Even after the actual day of Memorial Day, take a minute to remember those who have lost their lives to protet yours.

Just so you know

I think a lot of people misunderstand what a nerd actually is.  Zachary Levi from Chuck once said, "Being a nerd doesn't mean you're weird.  It just means you're passionate about something."  That the perfect definition of a nerd.  Even though I'm the classic nerd that is passionate about academics, you can be a video game nerd, a cheerleading nerd, a tech nerd, or anything else that you love to do.  Don't be ashamed of being nerd, and the next time someone calls you a nerd, just say, "No, actually Chloe says that I'm just a passionate individual." ;)

Sincerely,
A Proud, Self-Proclaimed Nerd

A note to my readers...

To anyone and everyone who takes the time to read my blog, thank you so much.  This is the first time I've ever done something like this, and it's a lot of fun.  I'm gonna try to keep blogging as much as I can and not bore you TOO much haha!  Thanks again!

Soccer 2

So, today was my second day of soccer practice. I got really tired really fast because it's been so long since I've really exercised like that. It's hard to get in shape when you're so out of it haha! Now, I'm sitting here at my dinner table and I can't remember the last time so many of muscles hurt like this. I need a hot bath and some Epsom salt right now. Like NOW. Sincerely, A Sore, Out of Shape, Self-Proclaimed Nerd

I cannot wait until summer

Lord have mercy, I CANNOT wait until the last day of school. I have so many things to study for and so many projects to finish. I have 2 stories I still need to write for newspaper too. Grr. My life...but anyway, I got my scores back for the PLAN test (practice ACT) today and I did pretty good. That was a high point of my day, and hopefully that's a good sign that I'll do well on the real ACT too! Sincerely, A Test-Taking Self-Proclaimed Nerd who is ready for summer!

Quote of the Day #10

"Baby, you light up my world like nobody else.  The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed, but when you smile at the ground, it ain't hard to tell, you don't know.  Oh-oh.  You don't know you're beautiful, oh-oh, and that's what makes you beautiful."

- What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction

I don't like algebra

Algebra is such a bum.  I would say the other b-word, but I don't cuss so...yeah.  We're learning about properties of logarithms, and I'm feeling an F on a quiz coming on.  The final exam for that class is in like a week and a half and I haven't started studying yet. -_-  Oh, my life.  The struggle is so real.

Soccer

Soo, I finally got my physical from the doctor yesterday, and he said that I should be fine to play soccer.  The season is unfortunately about halfway done, and I was not gonna play, but I missed it too much.  I played last year and had such a good time.  So now it's gonna be a race to get in the best shape that I can so I can get out on the field.  I'm super excited but i also gotta get ready for lots of ice and epsom salt because the sore muscles are coming!

A (trying to be athletic haha) Self-Proclaimed Nerd

Finals are coming...

I am freaking out because finals are in like 10 days and I really haven't started studying yet.  I really need to study for my algebra and chemistry finals, and I have 2 projects due at the end of the month.  The struggle is real.

Quote of the Day #9

"Are you lost or incomplete? Do you feel like a puzzle, you can't find your missing piece?" -Talk by Coldplay (been feeling Coldplay-ish lately)

My newspaper class

So...it's official. My newspaper class is crazy. Today, our editor-in-chief got a cup of water and splashed it all over our adviser's legs. He then proceeded to splash water all over everyone else too. People ended up in several different alliances with people running down the hallway, hiding under tables, laughing hysterically, or a combo of several of those things. It was hilarious to say the least. As crazy as we are, we're kind of like a family. All of us students act like crazy siblings, and our adviser is our crazy momma haha. And we make a pretty good newspaper too, if I must say so myself. ;)

French

My friends always look at me like I'm a nerd when I say this (and I am a nerd, so they're pretty accurate haha), but I really love French!  I know that this is random, but I really don't care.  There's just something about the language that is so fascinating to me.  I've only been taking French in school for almost 2 years now, but this year especially, I've come to really enjoy the language and the class.  I'm even getting kinda sorta a tiny wee bit good at speaking it! :)  Well, that is all.  I just wanted to express my very nerdy love for a beautiful language.  Au revoir for now!

Sincerely,
A French-Lovin', Self-Proclaimed Nerd

So excited!

I've really been struggling lately in algebra just to keep up with my grade and pass my tests with a grade better than a D.  Today, when my teacher passed back 4 different quizzes/assignments, and I got 3 A's and 1 B!!!  I was so excited, and hopefully we can keep this flow rolling.  It feels so good to ace a quiz (you just don't know)!

Sincerely,
A Self-Proclaimed Nerd who is feeling especially nerdy today ;)

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Haha...

I just realized that my last post was titled "Quote of the Day (Part 2)", but I actually posted it at 12:15 am! I just wanted to start the day (literally) with something to think about. Yeah, that was my plan all along. ;)

Quote of the Day #8 (Part 2)

"It is better to lose your life than to waste it." -John Piper

Quote of the Day #8

"When this is over, maybe we could go get shawarmas.  I don't really know what they are, but..."

- Tony Stark/Iron Man in The Avengers (one of the best movies of 2012!)

Guess what?!?

I totally forgot to blog about this last week, but last Friday, my choir teacher told me that I made it into varsity choir!!!  I've been in beginner's choir all year, and I've been working hard to improve my vocal performance and everything.  I had to audition too, and I don't think my audition went THAT great, but I guess I did well enough to get in.  People in varsity choir get to travel all over the place for festivals and concerts and stuff.  I'm super excited.

Sincerely,
A Singing, Self-Proclaimed Nerd

Quote of the Day #7

"In the night, the stormy night, she closed her eyes.  In the night, the stormy night, away she flies.  This could be para-para-paradise."

- Paradise by Coldplay
(one of the best Coldplay songs EVER...officially)

THE AVENGERS!!!

My mind is blown.

That was one of the most amazing action movies I've seen in a long time.  There were so many times during the movie where I was just like, "They are SO sweet!  Oh my gosh!"  I'm glad that there weren't that many people in the theater because I would've embarrassed myself from all the freaking out I was doing.  It's the type of movie that had so much action that I could go see it a second time and enjoy it just as much as the first time.

If you haven't seen the movie yet, go see it.  Right now.  Like, drop what you're doing and go see it.  You won't regret it, I promise.

I'm a terrible actor...

In my newspaper class, we're making an end-of -the-year video parody of a matchmaking show, kinda like The Bachelor or whatever.  Everyone else is having so much fun making it, but I'm so incredibly awkward on screen...it's kinda ridiculous haha.  I'm definitely not good at playing a love interest.  Geez.  I think I might be one of the first people to get eliminated off of this show. ;)

Deep thoughts...

Today was just one of those days where I came home, sat on the couch, and thought about life.  I just re-realized how thankful I am for a great family, super-crazy-awesome friends, and an incredible God who loves me more than anyone else in the world ever could.  Wow...

Take a second to be grateful for what you have.

Quote of the Day #6

"Be the change you want to see in the world."
- Gandhi

A big thank you...

I have noticed that I have been getting a steady amount of views from Germany and Russia, and I think that's so exciting!  To any Germans or Russians out there who read my blog, thank you SO much!  It makes me so happy, and I'm gonna try to blog more often to keep you entertained with my nerdy life haha!  Thanks again!

Life is good...

Sooo, I don't really have anything exciting going on in my life right now, but I'm watching my friend be an awkward turtle.  That's her life story ( and i'm saying that in the best possible way haha).  Go check out her blog Tales of a High School Bookworm and Drama Geek!!!  She's gonna be a super famous blogger soon, I promise.  Tell her I sent you!

Anyway, this nerd is struggling with algebra and I hate it and I even have a good teacher, but I just don't get it.  My life is a dark abyss, surrounded by the chains of mathematics.  Shoutout to my friend Sassy Blue Spots for that amazing quote about my terrible love life with math.  We have a love-hate relationship...or maybe just hate-hate relationship. ;)  The struggle is REAL!

Quote of the Day #5

"I strove to master words, to make them disappear, to make them important by making them new, to make them melt into a rising spiral of emotional stimuli...all ending in an emotional climax that would drench the reader with a sense of a new world."

-Richard Wright, excerpt from Black Boy, an autobigraphy

I thought that was one of the deepest things I've ever read in a book.  To anyone who is a writer, you should officially make that your motto! :)

High School Stereotypes, part 3

So, this is the end of my series for high school stereotypes (finally!).  Today, I'm going to target my own kind: nerds.  Yes, those overachieving students who are always on time for class and sit in the front.  Honestly, I'll probably just be observing my own habits and just laughing at myself in this blog.  Although, my friend Tales of High School Bookworm said that I'm a pretty cool nerd, so give me some credit. ;)

So, the life of a nerd can vary.  Some nerds are really athletic or artistic as well as being smart (they're the lucky ones).  Some, on the other hand, are purely academic, and any other things that they are good at somehow relate back to academics.  That's the kind of nerd I am, although I really like to sing as well.  I'm not an athlete at all, and I can't draw to save my life.  Give me an essay to write, though, and I'll give you some A+ material. :)  See, even that right there was nerdy.  I can't escape myself, but that's ok because I'm completely confident in my nerdyness!

Now, don't get the wrong impression that nerds aren't fun because they definitely are, and they're usually some of the nicest people too.  That's why I love nerdy guys.  They (almost) always have their heads securely on their shoulders, and they're just really down-to-earth.  So, if there are any nerds out there reading this, stand up and be proud because there's nothing to be ashamed of.  My teacher once told me, "Nerds make the world go 'round." And I realized that she was absolutely right.  Where would be without nerds?  No computers?  No iPods?  No TV?  How would we survive?!?  Haha I'm saying this all to say that, no matter what group you consider yourself to be in, be proud of who you are because you wouldn't be you without it.

Comment below and tell me what group you think you fall under and 1 reason why you're proud to be in that group.

Sincerely,
A Very Proud, Self-Proclaimed Nerd

By the way...

Although there are some funny things to be said about each clique in high school, I want to make something really clear.  It's funny to just sit back and observe people, but sometimes people can jump to conclusions about others.  Before you judge someone, take a minute to talk to them and get to know them and then make your judgment.  That's what I always try to do, and it helps, so try it for yourself!

High school stereotypes, part 2

So, last time, I tackled the popular kids for High School Stereotypes.  This time around, I'm gonna talk about the anime fans.  Yes, you know who I'm talking about.  I think there's a group of them in every school, and they are quite obvious.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on the anime fans, but these are just...observations.

First of all, they all stick together...very closely.  That way, they can discuss the newest edition of their favorite anime book together because no one else really knows what they are talking about.  Have you ever really tried to understand what they are talking about?  It's like a big Japanese fest, and considering I don't understand a single word of Japanese, I feel like the best thing to do is just smile and nod because that's the only thing I know how to do.

Secondly, they usually have a really interesting fashion sense, inspired by Japanese culture.  And they aren't afraid to speak their mind, even if what's on their mind is a little off-topic.  It leaves a lot of people really confused.

But, I have to admit that the anime fans that I know are really nice and really easy to talk to.  Sure, sometimes they can be a little off-topic, but when you get used to it, they can be cool people.  Who knows, maybe they can even teach you how to say some phrases in Japanese... ;)

Just checkin' in...

So, I know that I'm supposed to be right in the middle of my "High School Stereotypes" series, but school has been killer lately. I promise that as soon as I can, I will continue, but life has been busy. Just wanted to let you all know that I still exist. :) By the way, I was checking out my audience stats, and it was incredibly awesome to see that people from almost every continent have been checking out my blog...how exciting is that?!? Keep checking back, and I promise I will try to blog as soon as I can.

High school stereotypes...are real?

So, yesterday, I sat back and thought about all the sitcoms on TV that have all the classic high school stereotypes.  You know what I mean: the popular kids, the goths, the nerds, the jocks.  I could go on forever.  Well, I always thought, "Those aren't actually real," but then I thought about it, and maybe they are truer than I thought.

If you really think about it, all the cliques really are there, and pretty obvious too.  All the popular girls whose hair I still marvel at (how do they keep it looking that good ALL the time?!?) always get the guy, and they always have a huge crowd of people around them.  Is it normal for people to actually be that close?  Give me some room to walk!  And please, oh please, just because you are literally too cool for school does not mean that you have to block up the hallway.  Are you that cool?  Where you even have to walk cool?!?  Puh-lease, I have to get to class, so excuse me.  Who knows, maybe it's me.  Maybe I need to focus more on walking in a cool way so I won't be so nerdy.  Maybe, somehow, walking slower in the hallway, having my hair in perfect order every day, and walking with 50 people completely surrounding me will completely change my social status for the better.

...or maybe I'll just stick with being myself.  And, as a bonus, I won't be that annoying, uber-slow person in the hallway. :)  Next time I blog, I'll talk about a different clique, and yes, I will get to my kind (the nerds) too!

Here's a question for ya...

I want to make this blog interesting, so to anyone out there who may be reading this, here's a question: What do YOU want to see me blog about?  What would make it interesting to you?  My only request is that you keep it clean. ;)  Comment and let me know, and I'll try to make it happen!

WINTER BREAK!!!

I finally made it to the end of this week, and it's gonna feel so good to walk out of school in exactly 19 minutes and not come back next week.  Spirit Week has been fun, but it's gonna be so nice to just relax at home.  What are you doing for winter break?  Let me know and leave a comment!

Sincerely,

Movie premiere!

Hey Everyone,

I am here to shamelessly plug the new movie, Class Couple, that is premiering for Valentine's Day tonight at 8 pm (Eastern Time).  My newspaper class worked really hard on it, and from what I've heard from the editing staff, it's gonna be good!  Check it out: Phoenix Rising Detroit.  Tonight at 8 pm!!!

Sincerely,
Chloe (couldn't come up with a clever signature, sorry haha)

P.S. I don't know if you've noticed, but over the past couple days, I have been trying harder to post more often. Hope you're enjoying it!

Snowcoming Spirit Week

We just kicked off our spirit week with Crazy Hair Day, and I have a neon pink wig that I am shamelessly wearing in all of my classes.  People look at me crazy in the hallways, but I don't really mind.  The people who didn't do crazy hair are just lame, that's all.  I love all my friends because almost all of them came with their hairdos wacked out.  I have awesome friends.  So, for all the people that feel like they're too cool for Spirit Week, you're not. :)  Have fun with it.  It'll make for some cool memories down the road.

Tragedies, Victories, and Stoichiometry

So, today is Friday (thank GOD), and report cards are coming out today.  As far as I know, I'm holding down my 4.0, which is super exciting.  We're studying Greek tragedies in English right now, which is really fun.  Got English with Tales of a High School Bookworm (go check out her blog)!  Yes, I just shamelessly plugged my friend's blog. :)  I didn't think I was gonna to have an A in algebra 2, and when I saw my grade, I was literally fist pumping in the middle of the hallway.  No shame whatsoever!  I just started stoichiometry in chemistry, which is easier than I thought it would be.  That's all I have to say for now, but I promise I'll try to post more often.  Au revoir!
