High school stereotypes...are real?

So, yesterday, I sat back and thought about all the sitcoms on TV that have all the classic high school stereotypes.  You know what I mean: the popular kids, the goths, the nerds, the jocks.  I could go on forever.  Well, I always thought, "Those aren't actually real," but then I thought about it, and maybe they are truer than I thought.

If you really think about it, all the cliques really are there, and pretty obvious too.  All the popular girls whose hair I still marvel at (how do they keep it looking that good ALL the time?!?) always get the guy, and they always have a huge crowd of people around them.  Is it normal for people to actually be that close?  Give me some room to walk!  And please, oh please, just because you are literally too cool for school does not mean that you have to block up the hallway.  Are you that cool?  Where you even have to walk cool?!?  Puh-lease, I have to get to class, so excuse me.  Who knows, maybe it's me.  Maybe I need to focus more on walking in a cool way so I won't be so nerdy.  Maybe, somehow, walking slower in the hallway, having my hair in perfect order every day, and walking with 50 people completely surrounding me will completely change my social status for the better.

...or maybe I'll just stick with being myself.  And, as a bonus, I won't be that annoying, uber-slow person in the hallway. :)  Next time I blog, I'll talk about a different clique, and yes, I will get to my kind (the nerds) too!

Sincerely,
A Socially Observant, Self-Proclaimed Nerd
